SDGs 10 (Reduced Inequalities) aims to reduce income inequality and disparities based on gender, age, disability, race, class, ethnicity, and religion. The main focus of this goal is to create a more inclusive society through:
1. Lower Income Growth: Ensure income growth for the bottom 40% of the population is higher than the national average.
2. Social, Economic, and Political Inclusion: Empower and promote inclusion for all people regardless of status.
3. Fiscal and Social Policies: Adopt policies, especially fiscal, wage, and social protection policies, to progressively achieve greater equality.
4. Orderly Migration: Facilitate safe and responsible migration and mobility of people.
Efforts to Accelerate Implementation in Indonesia, until 2026, Indonesia will continue its efforts to reduce the Gini Ratio (inequality index) through the following strategies:
1. Social Protection Data Integration: Use of Regsosek (Socio-Economic Registration) to ensure that social assistance, subsidies, and empowerment programs reach the bottom 40% of the population with high accuracy.
2. Indonesia-Centric Development: Accelerate the development of infrastructure and new economic centers outside Java to reduce disparities between regions.
3. Strengthening an Inclusive Economy for People with Disabilities: Implementing job quota policies and public facility accessibility for people with disabilities to ensure they have equal economic opportunities.
4. Progressive Tax Reform: Implementing equitable fiscal policies to redistribute wealth through public spending in the education and health sectors.
5. Empowering MSMEs in Disadvantaged Regions: Providing easy access to financing and market digitization for businesses in the 3T (Frontier, Outermost, and Disadvantaged) regions.
According to a recent report, Indonesia has made progress in reducing inequality, but the main challenge remains the gap in the quality of basic services between provinces.
